Biobass USP

Biobass is a water soluble formulation containing spores and mycelial fragments of most virulent strain of Beauveria bassiana, entomopathogenic fungus, which is effective against various sucking insect pests and chewing insect pests.

Mode of Action

The conidia of Beauveria bassiana fungi attach to the insect cuticle, the spores enter the host by germination and penetration into the insect’s skin. Once the fungus enters the host, it produces toxins that overcome the insect’s immunity. Subsequently, the hyphae enter the cuticle outwards and cause white sporulation on the insect’s body and eventually kill the insect.

Benefits

Secretes enzymes that will proliferate in the host insect body and causes mortality through a combination of chemical, mechanical, water loss and nutrient loss effects.
Reduced feeding and immobility are rapidly evident; pest dies within between 4 to 10 days post-infection. The time to death will depend on the pest species, age and conidial dose.
Effective against various species of borers, cutworms, root grubs, leafhoppers. whitefly, aphids, mealybugs, thrips, beetles, whitefly, larvae of Colorado beetle and also several species of leaf-gnawing pests

Water soluble formulation 300-500 g/acre

Method of Application

Seed treatment

10 g of the product/seeds required for one acre. Mix 10 g of the product with required quantity of organic products like humic acid, sea weed extracts etc., in water. Coat the seeds with the slurry, shade dry for 10-15 min. and sow the seeds instantly.

Soil Drenching

Mix 300 to 500 g of the product with 100 lit. of water and drench the soil before sowing/transplanting using a Hand operated sprayer, after removing its nozzle.
